Assembly Worker

 Role and Responsibilities

An Assembler is responsible for the assembly of final product and sub-assemblies, as well as function checks of the same.

Key duties/responsibilities of an Assembler are, including, but not limited to:

·        Prepares work to be accomplished by following assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

·        Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.

·        Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.

·        Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.

·        Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

·        Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.

·        Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

·        Communicate status of in-­process jobs to Supervisor and co-workers.

·        Keep accurate time records via ERP system.

·        Demonstrate practical knowledge of Good Machining Practices (GMP)

·        Be respectful and a team player with co-workers.

·        Maintain and provide support to all 5-S program initiatives.

·        Ensure compliance to workplace policies according to safety objectives and procedures.

·        May also be directed to assist in various shop operations by production management.

Education

·        High school degree or equivalent GED.

Qualifications

·        General shop tool & equipment operation and setup experience.

 

Language Skills

Ability to understand and speak English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
